Kahului, Maui

Kahului is located on the North side of the island, in the "notch" between the East and west sides of the island.

As far as tourism goes, there's not much in Kahului. However, most people visiting Maui will travel through Kahului because that's where the main airport on Maui is located (Kahului Airport - OGG).

 

If a tourist on Maui wants to go shopping at Wal-Mart or Home Depot ... They've got to go to Kahului.

Kahului has several shopping malls, which are home to quite a few department stores. There is the Maui Market Place, the Kahului Shopping Center, the Maui Mall and the Queen Kaahumanu Center. If you're hungry, there are many popular restaurants located at these malls.

Kahului also is home to the only deep water port on the island.
