Kapalua, Maui

 

Kapalua is located on the North-Western most side of Maui. It is a a resort area that covers some 23,000 acres and is made up of 3 accomodation areas, 5 pristine beaches, many restaurants and 2 world-class golf courses.

 

The accomodations include the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, The Kapalua Villas, and Kapalua Luxury Homes. While the former is stricly rental units, the later 2 can be rented as well as purchased.

The 2 golf courses are The Bay Course and The Plantation Course. The Plantation course is the current host to the Mercedes-Benz Championships which opens each new PGA season on the first weekend of January.

 

 

 

Beginning in October 2008, the Kapalua resort will also host the LPGA Tour's Kapalua LPGA Classic golf torunament.

The resort hosts the Kapalua Wine and Food Festival every year.

Kapalua also has it's own airport, conveniently named the Kapalua Airport (JHM).
